Dota 2 The International (TI) closes with the Grand Finals tomorrow, the winner will take home the bulk of the $18,731,577 raised so far, and fans can expect some of the best wombo combos the world has ever seen.
Team Secret (TS) and Team Liquid (TL) are the two oldest and biggest names in the Dota 2 eSports scene and have changed the game several times since its inception. They will meet in the Lower Bracket Finals tomorrow.
The stakes are higher than ever and even a single misstep could see one of these teams drop to third place in the tournament. In this case, they lost the chance to win the Aegis trophy and become the Dota 2 TI11 champions.
TS vs TL in Dota 2 TI11: Who Gets Another Chance to Play in the Grand Finals?
Team Liquid presented themselves as a competitive team, crushing and sweeping the Lower Nracket and beating many teams. Their years of experience and expertise have brought them this far and they have garnered a huge community of fans who support them at all costs.
Team Liquid tended to use character blueprints built around Enigma, Leshrac, or Lifestealer in previous fights, but opted to take on Team Aster with a Lina-centric blueprint that featured an agile demeanor like Bloodseeker. It will be interesting to see if the team can offer something completely unexpected in the next game.
Team Secret, on the other hand, had a windy time in the upper bracket before being crushed in the lower bracket by Tundra Esports, with the latter securing the first runner-up spot.
This is a team that understands the value of patience and persistence. The site acknowledges that the real game of Dota 2 doesn't disappear until the last second, where a lucrative team fight can turn things around.
Team Secret has used two different character designs in the previous game centered around Leshrac, Marci, Dawnbreaker, and Silencer. They changed a bit and built their project on Magnus and Gyrocopter against Tundra Esports which unfortunately resulted in them losing. Fans can expect the team to take a new approach in the upcoming clash against Liquid.
It's been a tough decision to choose between the two veteran teams that have brought some of the most talented players to the Dota 2 esports scene, but Team Secret looks the more daring statistically and appear to have a better chance of picking a win against Team Liquid to secure a place in the Grand Finals.
Head-to-head
Team Secret and Team Liquid have been long-time rivals ever since both sides set foot in the Dota 2 esports scene. In 2022, the former won against the latter in all three tournaments: TI11 WEU Qualifier, DPC WEU 2021/2022 T3: Div. I, and DPC WEU 2021/2022 T2: Div. I.
