Chelsea defender Reece James has reportedly been told he will not be part of the England squad for the 2022 World Cup.
The 22-year-old was a first choice for the Qatar tournament before sustaining a knee injury against AC Milan in the Champions League on October 10.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate James revealed on Tuesday that the right-back will not feature in the final squad.
The report claims the defender was flown to Dubai as part of rehabilitation and has completed a "run-up" in recent days, but Southgate ultimately decided James will not fit enough to take part in the tournament, which starts November 20.
