Southampton has announced that they are parting ways with head coach Ralf Hasenhütl after nearly four years at the helm of the club.
Speculation over the 55-year-old's future surfaced on Sunday afternoon after the Southampton lost 4-1 at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League - their eighth defeat in the top division this season - with a report hinting at his announcement. Mandatory dismissal can be done in the next few days.
Southampton confirmed on Monday morning that Hasenhütl had left the club with immediate effect and the Austrian left the south coast club in the relegation zone with just 12 points from 14 games.
