Manchester United bidders have reportedly been told by the club's current owners that they have 10 days to submit a new bid for the 20-time English champions.
Last November, the Glazers announced they were ready to sell the Red Devils and now two bids have been made by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
However, both bids are believed to have totaled around $4.5 billion.
A recent report claims Sheikh Jassim has emerged as a front-runner in buying the club, with bankers willing to pay off Old Trafford's debts and also complete a full 100 per cent takeover.
Representatives for Sheikh Jassim will meet senior Man United officials on Thursday, while Ratcliffe will travel to Old Trafford and Carrington on Friday.
According to the Daily Mail, Man United's bidders have been told they have 10 days to submit their next bid as the Glazers are unwilling to accept what is currently on the table.
The report claims representatives from Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe will complete a full assessment of how much investment the club's training ground and facilities will require.
Once the round is complete, it is understood that interested parties will be invited to submit a new offer to Raine Group, the US bank working on the sale for Glazer.
While Sheikh Jassim is said to want a full takeover, Ratcliffe will reportedly only take over 69% of Glazer, and the British billionaire has no plans to write off the debt either.
The Glazers are believed to be inclined to sell Sheikh Jassim but that remains a moot point in terms of the club's ranking.
The current owners are believed to be willing to pay an asking price of £6 billion.
It's now said the takeover is unlikely to be completed before June, which won't give the potential new owners much time to plan for the summer transfer window.
