"Terrible consequence for ICC" Medvedev threatens to hit the court in The Hague with the Oniks hypersonic missile.
Medvedev threatens to hit the court in The Hague with the Onyx hypersonic missile.
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, threatened to launch a rocket attack on the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which previously issued arrest warrants for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in connection with the deportation of Ukrainian children from Russia.
Medvedev quotes from Telegram “"Gentlemen, everyone walks under God and missiles. It is quite possible to imagine the targeted use of hypersonic Oniks from the North Sea by a Russian ship at The Hague court building. Unfortunately, it cannot be shot down. And the court is just a poor international organisation, not the population of a NATO country. That's why they won't start a war. They are afraid. And no one will feel sorry for them. So, judges of the court, look carefully at the sky."
Details: The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council wrote a post that was, as usual, long and full of offensive epithets.
He called the issuance of the arrest warrant against Putin the "final breakdown of the international legal system".
Medvedev wrote several paragraphs insulting the International Criminal Court, which Russian officials say "no one needs" and whose effectiveness is said to be "zero".
According to Putin's subordinates, a state and its leaders can be tried in two cases: when the state itself is very weak, almost loses its sovereignty and decides to recognize the court's verdict; and when countries lose wars and surrender.
Medvedev believes that "terrible consequences for international law" are expected after the arrest warrant against Putin, as this decision is said to lead to "the collapse of the foundations, the principles of law".
